• Tell the Truth!!

“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you” John‬ ‭15‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

I need to speak about this today, as I literally went through it today. I think this conversation is well needed. As we serve God truly, we don’t realize that sometimes we will be faced with pretty rough challenges. What we also fail to remember is that Jesus was persecuted first, so why do we get shocked sometimes when we get attacked. If I’m being honest it’s hard to follow Jesus sometimes, because this world doesn’t want to know about God. Or maybe they believe in God, but they follow Him so that he can fit their needs. People don’t understand that God has literally made us in His image. He’s also a parent who loves his children, and has put boundaries on His children to protect them. He created us for Him, not so we can live however we want. And still He’s so beautiful, because He allows us to choose Him back, He doesn’t force us. God is a parent who loves all His children, but doesn’t agree with our sinful ways, people like to twist this argument to their convenience. I’ve been realizing that sometimes we Christians get scared to talk about God, when people in the world do a better job at evangelism for the god of this world. If you love pleasing yourself you are living for the master of this world. That’s what the word of God says, you can’t serve too masters. You either serve God or the master of this world. You are either a slave to Christ or to the father of this world. You see the enemy has tricked people into thinking that self-pleasing/righteousness is better. The enemy has people fooled, people think they are truly living for themselves, but they are truly just obeying and following the enemy. You see the enemy came to kill, steal and destroy. He doesn’t want you to truly live for God. I love God because He gives us hope, but not only that, He’s persistent in guiding us to lead others along with us to Him. While on the other-hand with the world, it’s all about what can benefit the self! Let me be better than the other person, have more than the other person. I come today passionately to say that we need not to be ashamed of the gospel. If the world is not scared to proclaim their god, why should we be scared to proclaim our God, the one who truly saves!! You see today got me thinking… I’m doing a disservice not telling the Truth to those around me. We are gatekeeping the truth because of what??? Being scared that those around us will judge us. They will judge us only for a while and then realize the Truth!!! Would you rather them be mad at you or truly be saved…? We don’t love those around us enough, if we don’t tell the truth! Who cares what people think, I get it if they are family. But even Jesus knew the true assignment as He was being raised up…

    Remember these words…

“And a crowd was sitting around Him, and they *said to Him, “Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You.” Answering them, He *said, “Who are My mother and My brothers?” And looking around at those who were sitting around Him, He *said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God, this is My brother, and sister, and mother” Mark‬ ‭3‬:‭32‬-‭35‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬.

I believe Jesus was saying that His family are those who believe in God, who ‬‬truly follow His paths. We are so focused on the wrong things sometimes… We need to be bold and stand up for the gospel! Who cares what people think, proclaim the gospel !! You don’t know what God is doing or wants to do. If He has brought you this far, He will lead you to the end, TRUST HIM! FEAR NOT! Who cares about what people think about you, let God take care of that!

  • Trust.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

I want to dissect this verse with you today. First, I just want to say how much this verse has impacted me in this season of my life… I’ve literally had to recite this verse in my mind, I don’t know how many times exactly, but a lot! Now let’s get into it, I feel like it all stems back from the beginning. I feel like everything stems back to the beginning, but anyways… Since the beginning mankind has had trust issues. I say that because if we trusted Gods words enough, we wouldn’t take matters into our own hands a lot of the times. It’s in our sinful nature to want to be in control of everything. It’s in our sinful nature to want to know everything… But we need to comprehend that our God is way bigger than we think. You know what else the word of God says ?

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Psalmist understood it best… Let’s read below,

“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot comprehend it.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭6‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

We can’t possibly think that we can understand God completely. He is the creator of the whole universe. I always like going back to the design argument because it makes so much sense. A chair obviously needed a designer, can a chair possibly understand the mind of the human being that was used to make it…? So if God is the creator of everything, why is it even a thought in our minds, that we can possibly comprehend him. We can’t understand his ways, nor can we understand his thoughts. But this should give us hope and peace, the creator of the whole world holds everything in his hands. If your eyes have seen and you’ve tasted of his goodness, why doubt… I think we all go through a stage in our lives, where we question the existence of God. Some will circle around and understand what I am saying today. While others will just continue their lives and deny his existence. I get people sometimes, because we can’t physically see God. But creation as a whole speaks of his existence… If we look around, Gods finger prints are all over. Even the way we do things as human beings, it reveals his very nature. People in the world can make up their own ideologies or whatever, but God will be the only one remaining at the end… God speaks about that a lot in his word. If I’m being honest this year has been a difficult year for me, but it’s been the most revealing year for me. I believe that God has revealed himself more to me, and spoken more clearer. You see when you keep your sight on man, it could be really easy to loose sight of our Heavenly Father. That is why I am so grateful to God that he left us a guide, if you think about it he left us a lot of tools.

I want to circle back around to the first verse that I wrote. I think that verse is so important to recite, because there are really going to be things in life that you won’t understand. We are human beings who always want answers, and control, but when it comes to God you won’t always have it. Our minds can’t comprehend his ways! I can assure you that there will be times when you won’t understand why things happen. There will be times when you will ask why hasn’t it happened yet. There will be so many questions, but you have to remind yourself of the God you serve. He is the God who sees all things. He is the God who knows all things. Knowing His words, should give us assurance and hope… He is the creator of the whole universe… Guess what? The word of God states that all things work for the good of those who love him. Focus on seeking him and have childlike faith. We can’t comprehend the creator because we are the creation, beings who are lower than him and still he made us in his image! If you stopped to pause and think about God, you would be in awe!

    Dwell on this verse…

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.

And do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He will make your paths straight.”
    ‭‭

Trust in him, he has all the answers you need. He is the answer!

  • Intentional.

Have you noticed that our God is very intentional? Everything he has created and done, is with purpose. I don’t think I can think of something in creation with no purpose. Your life is with purpose. Your circumstance is with purpose. We look at all of creation and find his hand in it! Do you know what it is to know that he holds the whole world in his hands… dwell upon that! That also means he holds you and I in his hands… I’ve noticed that God really did make us in His image. If you notice, everything reflects his character… Really pause to think about that… God has made us in his image to reflect him, not be Him!!! I always find it interesting how without saying it directly, mankind always try’s to BE God. Mankind has literally become so sinful. Sin is such a dark place to be in… I’m telling you, I love Gods way truly. God teaches me to literally be selfless and he takes care of me. Man, living in God changes everything about you… Think about it, mankind has literally become so wicked. People have literally said that men can have babies. People are trying to figure out how everything was created. I mean it’s not a shocker, time and time again, mankind tends to do that. People are trying to figure out how to modify and distort creation. As if the creator isn’t bigger than them. We human beings are so fallen and our God is still on his throne reigning. Human beings want to be God so much, it’s crazy. Hey, we all fall short of his glory. But at some point we need to realize and be tired of missing the mark. Our Creator has literally made a way and we are choosing to live away from him. I’m sorry but there are just enate things that God has placed in us for a reason. He wants a relationship with us… He doesn’t stop chasing after his creation. He sent his only Son on the cross to die for us and for our sins. So he could reconcile humanity to him and still…. People choose to live without him. I don’t know about you, but I can’t do it by myself. I’ve tried it and it just didn’t/doesn’t go well for me, every time! We choose to reflect Satan sometimes, way more than our actual Creator, God… I could just imagine this is a slap to His face. He created us for him and yet we turn away from him. Imagine creating something so you can enjoy it and have a relationship with it. Only for it to not want you back and it choosing to live for itself. How messed up and saddening that is no? But sometimes this is us… sometimes this is how we treat God. If you have tasted and seen of his goodness in your life, remain in him. Endure until the end and don’t give up, no matter how hard it is. God in his word says,

“Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself but must remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing ‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬”.

We can’t do anything without him, we are fooled to think that we could ever. He loves you and he loves me, let’s bring glory/honor to His name. Remain in him, because it is only in him that we can truly be fruitful.

My favorite words from Artist Chandler Moore “Lead me on”.

    I’m not perfect
    Don’t always get it right
But I’ll rather walk by faith
And not by my foolish sight

    So lead me on
    Lead me on
    Lead me on
    Please lead me on

Things don’t always make sense, but trust God… God is real and more than alive! 😊

  • Doubt.

Hmmmmmm this is going to be good. There is so much to talk about in this blog. But doubt is a topic man!! If I’m being honest God has been taking me on a journey this year, one that has tested my faith greatly. Sometimes we lose sight of all the things that God has done with us. My pastor this Sunday mentioned a verse, that impacted me so much. He said,

“Later He appeared to the eleven disciples themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reprimanded them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen from the dead ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬”.

Sometimes because we get consumed with our day to day we forget that we have a God who wants to do life with us. I read throughout the Bible of people whom we all can relate too. This Bible verse is so interesting because Jesus came back to the disciples after resurrecting. It’s like we take this whole life journey with God, and forget who he is/what he has done in our lives.

On Monday God gave me a big revelation, honestly where we all fall short. He told me that sometimes we use God like people use a prostitute. People look for prostitutes to use/sleep with them to satisfy their (lustful) desires and then leave. We treat him in the same way, where we use him to get what we want and then leave him.  When God wants a relationship (a marriage) with you. We are his bride and he is our groom!!! We have tasted and seen of his goodness. Let’s silence the voice of the enemy, he does nothing new. We are the ones who fall into his trap, we need to control our minds… Submit it to the obedience of Jesus Christ. We need to constantly meditate on Gods word.

A verse I constantly find myself repeating and declaring in my head is, “2 Corinthians 10:5- “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”. Whenever we have thoughts of doubt and unbelief, turn this verse into a prayer and declare it.

I get why people doubt, because some things just don’t make sense. But the thing is we can’t expect our minds to possibly comprehend someone who is so much bigger than us. He is our creator, he made the whole universe. Think about it with the design argument. A chair can’t create itself, it needed a designer. Now can a chair possibly comprehend the mind of its designer, no!!!! We need to think of it in the same way. We need to be weary of the enemy’s schemes and be cautious with our minds !!! What you feed your mind, is what your mind will be full of. God calls us in his word to set our minds on things above, not earthly things… Becareful that you don’t let unbelief enter into your mind and heart. We have been given the Bible and Jesus himself for a reason. We need to learn, not to judge the characters in the Bible but to learn from them. We are no better than them, we judge Judas a lot whenever his name comes to surface. But if we really think about it, we are no better than him. We judge the Israelites, but just like they fell short we do always as well!! If we think about it, everyone in the Bible were great examples. Each person God used to teach a great lesson, the only difference between some of the characters was simply their hearts… Judas saw and literally walked with Jesus. Yeah, maybe we don’t physically see our God. But God gives us a lot of affirmative words in His word. He says blessed are those who without seeing believe!!! He also says a fool in his heart says there is no God. Okay maybe you don’t completely doubt Gods existence. But not trusting that God has a plan, not trusting that God has control over your life, is also allowing doubt to enter into your life…. We must be wary to not lose trust and sight of what is true, our God.

  • How to pray…

“It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.” And He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘ Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. ‘Give us each day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation.’ ””
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Now we will be dissecting these verses today… In verse 1 we see that one of the disciples asked Jesus how to pray. I wanted to speak about this because some of us have found ourselves in a state where we don’t know how to pray. It could be that you recently accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Or it could be that you’ve been a Christian for a while now and you feel like you may not be praying correctly. I believe although God calls us to pray in this way, we may not understand its depth. More than us reciting a verse, he wants us to genuinely believe and do/say at heart.

Let’s go to verse 2: “And He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘ Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come” Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭2‬ ‭NASB2020. Jesus is teaching us here when we pray we need to acknowledge our God, his being with reverence. Your kingdom come, that his will may be done as it is in heaven. A lot of times we have self centered prayers, but when we pray we need to pray that he do what he wants to do. We are not the creator, he is, which is why he knows best. His ways are higher than ours, he sees things you don’t.

Now verse 3: “Give us each day our daily bread” Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭3‬ ‭NASB2020.

We need to ask God to give us what we need, everyday. There is a difference between what we need and what we want.

Let’s go to verse 4: “And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation” Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭4‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬.
Wow! This is really fire, let’s really really dig deep into this. Everyday, and I mean everyday we need to speak to God about this. Daily there are things we do or say that we may be conscious/unconscious about, that don’t please our God. We are human beings who are not perfect. Which means we will fail and make mistakes. Let’s remember a true Christian does not preplan to sin, but there are things sometimes that we don’t plan and it happens. Let me elaborate… someone who plans beforehand to lie to get his/her way, is already strategizing in his/her mind to plain-fully sin, that’s wrong. Now let’s say you were living your day, and accidentally in the moment you lied to your boss that you came on time when you didn’t. Now both are a sin and you need to repent for. But a true Christian doesn’t plan beforehand to commit a sinful act. Things happen, we aren’t perfect it’s in our nature. But we need to be daily killing our flesh and live a new life in Jesus Christ. Plus remember, our God knows what’s truly in the hearts of man (all people). So he knows whether you meant to do it or not. He knows if you are doing it to take advantage of his grace. We need daily renewing because in us isn’t good, we were born into sin. It is in our nature to want to do things to please ourselves and act like we don’t need saving/like we know it all. But we clearly know that we can’t do this life alone, we need a Savior, which is only found in Jesus Christ… He is the truth, the way and the life.

This prayer was also written in Matthew 6:9… I really love how it’s written there as well. If we look to the verse below in that Chapter it says… “For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses” Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬. Which ties along to verse 4 in Luke. In the Word of God, he always calls us to forgive one another. It even says here if we forgive those who hurt us, he will even forgive us for our offenses. I find it crazy that whenever anyone sins, they sin against God, not you. When someone hurts you, I know it feels like they are hurting you. Which is why it says those “indebted to you”, we human beings when someone hurts us believe they “owe” us an apology. Although they have hurt us, essentially they are hurting God as well. The last thing said in Luke 11:4; And do not lead us into temptation. So saying, God please do not let me be tempted by the enemy/by evil. Keep your hand on me and lead me not there.

Now I love this prayer because clearly it’s important. But I want us to understand that more than repeating this in a routinely manner, he wants us to genuinely pray this prayer. We don’t have to word by word pray this. You don’t have to pray a perfect prayer, but this is a prayer we should model. When we pray we should acknowledge his greatness, ask for his will to be done, ask for forgiveness and forgive others; if you don’t know how to, ask for help to forgive those who have hurt you. Ask to not be led to be tempted by the enemy.

God bless you guys, I hope this helps you pray before our God Almighty. 😊

  • Judging…

If we are being honest a lot of times we judge our brothers and sisters. This is something that has bothered me, but I didn’t realize that unconsciously I would do the same. I would dislike people who would laugh and judge when someone did something wrong. I would say why not instead of laughing at them, you help them instead. Sometimes we forget where we ourselves came from. We forget where our God took us out of. Instead of using that as a tool to help lead others out from captivity, the way God calls us to, we do the opposite. We judge them, condemn them and don’t lead them the right way. Most of the time we just hurt people and lead them away from God. But you know what scripture says…

“Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. But do you suppose this, you foolish person who passes judgment on those who practice such things, and yet does them as well, that you will escape the judgment of God?” Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬.

We are literally no better than our brothers and sisters. The word of God also says…

““Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned” Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭36‬-‭37‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬.

This topic has touch my heart so much because we don’t even realize sometimes that we judge/condemn our neighbors. The word of God also says,

“Therefore let the one who thinks he stands watch out that he does not fall” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬.

Basically, don’t think that you aren’t capable of falling. What is crazy to me is that a lot of times we spend so much time focusing on how our neighbors are sinning, that we tend to not watch out for ourselves and end up falling as well. Or even, we are looking at the speck in the eye of our neighbors, failing to understand that we have a log in our eyes as well (bigger). We are hypocrites because we also are sinning. We get so distracted and lose ourselves in the process. Which is why this walk is a daily renewing, pray for your neighbor. Help out and lay a hand just like our Father in Heaven did/does with you as well. Your neighbor isn’t perfect, just like you aren’t either. We are all on this journey together, we need to lift each other up. Instead of shaming, hurting, judging and condemning, help… Now im not saying condone what is wrong, im speaking about when people go around telling people’s business to shame them. Don’t go gossiping around thinking that you are any better, because you are not! Instead pray for them and ask God to give you direction to help them or to send someone else to help them. As I am ministering to you, im ministering to myself as well. A lot of times we do this because of our culture, it’s all we saw growing up. But Jesus Christ came to bring a new order, which means he doesn’t call us to live that way. We aren’t supposed to be living like everyone else, but rather like Jesus lived here on earth.

  • Gods power!

I think we as a church have forgotten Gods power. God isn’t weak… let me list you all the things he is. He is,

    1. All-knowing
    2. All powerful
    3. Omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent.
    4. Sovereign
    5. Graceful
    6. Loving
    7. Good
    8. Patient
    9. Merciful
    10. Forgiving
    11. To many of us Our Father.
    12. Our Creator
    13. Extraordinary

I honestly can keep going…. He is too good! I for one am unworthy of God. I am unworthy of everything he gives. I am unworthy of even calling him my God. God is more than capable of doing anything. But the thing about our God, is that he is smarter and greater than all of us combined. He knows things that you can’t even fathom. It’s not that God doesn’t allow or do certain things because he can’t. But it’s quite actually the opposite, it’s because he knows things you don’t. He knows if he allows certain things to happen, it would hurt you. He knows if he allows certain things that you want to happen, it would cost you rather than add to you. He knows if he allows certain things, that you would mess up a good thing. Which is why in his word he says,

“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every matter under heaven”. Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬
Our God isn’t powerless, he just knows better. We just need to learn as his son and daughters to be aligned to his will. A lot of times we pray for things for our own selfish desires. It’s not about us, it’s about being attached to his divine plan/purpose/will. Let’s connect ourselves more with our father, so we can understand what’s from him and what’s not. Let’s go back to believing in his power church! God is great and mighty. Let’s start believing for his will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven!!

  • Merry Christmas.

If you are reading, I just want to thank you for taking the time to read my blog’s. I pray that they minister to you and bring you closer to our God. In a world that brings so much confusion, I pray that this blog directs you closer to the truth. Maybe you are a Christian who feels lost, discouraged, or unworthy, I pray that they bring you back to the arms of our Father in heaven. God bless you guys!

    Continuing, Merry Christmas !!

I honestly love Christmas so much! I love getting together with the people I love most and share an important day. Growing up Christmas was always about the gifts, family, food, Santa, etc. We would stay until late awaiting for everyone to open gifts that people saw so important to them. Coming to the Lord I learned that it was more than that. Yeah, Jesus is the reason for the season! There is no greater gift that we could ever receive that would triumph the greatest gift of all, salvation! Salvation…. a word that society likes to downgrade a lot. I don’t know where I would be without salvation, but I can assure you no where good. The truth is that a lot of people think that we could be good without Jesus. But we have a false belief, we can’t possibly be good without him. There is no one good, we all sin and fall short of his glory. Which is why we needed saving…. We needed saving from ourselves from sin! Which is why Jesus had to come into the picture. Now when we are in Christ we are made righteous, God no longer see’s us alone. But instead he sees his beautiful son, who bore the sins of all of humanity and defeated death! He sees a pure and dignified lamb. I don’t know about you, but I for sure needed saving. Jesus changed my way of living, thinking and entire being if I’m being honest. How not to believe??? When I’ve tasted and seen of his goodness. God is so beautiful man, think about it… He did all this to give humanity a second chance into his presence. He wants to live with and in us. He loves us so much, but we let the chaos and thinking pattern of this world, steer us away from him. We have the truth right in front of us and still don’t choose to believe. Salvation came into my life and changed me, will you allow it to change you? Jesus is the true meaning of Christmas, let’s not forget that! So when you are celebrating with your family, remember that and cherish it. MERRY CHRISTMAS FAMILY!

“She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this took place so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled: “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

  • IDOLS.

Sometimes we don’t understand what idols are, or what they look like. But if we really analyze it, like we will be doing so today, we can see its deeper than we have been thinking it is. If we look at the definition of what an idol is, the internet tells us “Idols are objects or people that are not God but are worshiped as if they were”. It is so important to understand this because one of Gods commandments is,

“I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before Me Exodus‬ ‭20‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NASB2020”.‬‬
We need to be careful of not falling into this. A lot of times God blesses us with things and sometimes we aren’t careful, we make them idols. What I find crazy is that some people know what they are doing and others do it unconsciously. Things that God gives us should only be an addition, not a completion. We are complete once we have God in our lives. No one can fill what God can only fill. That is why I believe that God takes us into processes or seasons where we truly comprehend that. He never wants you to think that a human being or thing is your god. Another thing I find crazy is that we will never verbally say that something other than God, is our god. But unconsciously we think and make it our god, by how we treat it/let it govern our lives. We let people take the place that only God can take. We hold people on pedestals, that is why we are torn when people fail us. We hold them to a high standard that only God can truly meet, but we don’t understand that. We let fleeting things govern our hearts and lives, not understanding where our treasure is, our hearts are as well. We truly will know people by their fruits. You will know whether their hearts are on man or on God. I love verse 2 because we tend to forget it. For so many reasons he is worthy of being our only true God. But one of them is because he saved us, he took us out of slavery. Like he did with the Israelites, he saved them from being a slave to the Egyptians. He did the same thing to us with sin, when we didn’t even deserve it like the Israelites. Let’s not forget Gods deity, even if the world doesn’t recognize it. We have tasted and seen of his goodness, he is worthy of it all. If we are being honest we couldn’t do it without him, so why do we think that sometimes we can do it without him. Let’s not be adulterers like the word of God says. Yeah…. God doesn’t only see people who are married and cheat on their partners as adulterers. The Bible says,

“You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God James‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬”.
The Bible is clear to state that we are his bride. God compares us to a woman who commits adultery, when we make friendship with the world. Meaning we sometimes tend to be like the world and flirt with it. When we make friendship with someone we let them into our hearts and have influence in our lives. We tend to be like the world and idolize what’s in it. Everyone does it differently, maybe they idolize money, their partners, their kids, their houses, cars, jobs, ministry, etc. We need to be careful with our hearts and that we don’t put anything else before our God. It’s God first and everything else goes after… In a world that loves to worship idols, we need to be careful who we worship/let reign our hearts. If you aren’t careful you can idolize the wrong thing. When you worship something you understand it holds first place in your heart, you obey, respect, trust and honor it above all. Only God should be holding that place in your heart. He is truly sovereign and none can compare to him!

  • Expectations…

It’s not bad to have expectations but we need to be careful. Sometimes we get disappointed when things don’t look the way we thought it would look… it’s not bad to be hopeful, but we got to let God flow… The word of God says “ lean not on your own understanding….trust not in your own understanding”. We aren’t God so we won’t always get the full picture. Sometimes we get prophetic words and we think we know how it will look or happen. But when it happens we reflect and think… wow this is actually how God wanted it to happen. Or wow God… it already happened !!! We can be so focused on how we thought it would look like. Guys one thing about our God is that he is perfect in all his ways… He is a good good Father and loving Father at that. We need to put our emotions and plans aside… God is always working, but are you aligned to his will? This verse is direct, “The mind of a person plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs‬ ‭16‬:‭9‬ ‭NASB2020. You can plan what you want but ultimately it’s up to God. Your Father in heaven knows what you need. You see a lot of times God doesn’t give us what we want when we want it because he knows we will ruin it. We will ruin it because we aren’t ready. He’s God, he sees all things, so he knows. We live in this bubble and God lives outside of it because he’s our designer, he knows all. ‬‬Expect that God is always working on your behalf but that he knows best. He sees all things, knows all things and hears all things… Now I’m not telling you to not expect things from God, but I want you to expect more on the side that God knows best. Expect that he will give you the desires of your heart according to his will. He won’t always give you exactly what you want because what you want may hurt you or ruin his plans…

Then we have the type of expectations where we expect a lot from human beings… Humans will never ever be able to meet our expectations because they aren’t perfect. I’ve had to learn this the hard way because I used to expect so much from people. That is why I choose to keep my eyes fixed on the constant one which is the man upstairs, our Father. He is the same today, yesterday and forever. He won’t fail you like humans will. I think in knowing this, that people will fail us because they aren’t perfect, it helps us not be discouraged. What it is that we do is that we put people on a pedestal, when they can’t possibly meet it. Even we ourselves have failed people, so why do we assume others won’t. Once we understand that people aren’t perfect, but our God is, It helps us better understand humanity and pushes us to give our complete all to God. It makes us want to become more one with the Father, because we understand that only he can satisfy us… We were never made to depend on human beings, but only on God.
